KUTX 98.9 Austin Music app for iPhone and iPad

No other station captures the Austin Music Experience like KUTX 98.9 FM. What youll hear is a hand-curated, alternative music mix with a local twist. Our hosts, aka DJs, have more than 300 years on the radio combined--most of that in Austin. The music staff collaborates on picking the best songs, albums and artists from the great pool of talent that makes Austin the "Live Music Capital of the World." Youll be sure to discover new favorites and enjoy familiar tunes with us.

This new version of our app focuses on two things--a high-quality stream and the playlist. Weve thrown a couple other things in there too, but this is what our listeners have been asking for, for a long time (sorry!). Were providing an all digital, efficient stream using the AAC+ codec. It sounds great on all platforms, devices, radios and even over cellular. Tap in some headphones and have a listen.

It doesnt matter if youre in Austin, Texas, Minnesota, Alberta or Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, the KUTX app brings the Austin Music Experience to you in a clear, digital stream.

If youre also a fan of KUT or our spin on Latin rock, Alt Latino, please download the individual versions of those apps as well. Similar features, but with the same great audio. Weve separated the apps so we can bring better and different features to each in the future.

And if youre still using the legacy KUT app, the white one with blues and yellows, please switch to this version and delete the old one. Well be turning it off this summer along with the low-bitrate streams it only supports, going back to the days when the cellular networks could barely handle 24 kbps streams.
